As Chief Executive Officer and Owner of MJI Building Services, Mark brings years of experience in the construction industry, serving as both the leader and visionary of the company. Through a hands-on approach and dedication to mentoring the team, Mark ensures the successful delivery of projects while fostering long-term relationships within the industry.

What inspired you to pursue a career at MJI Building Services? What keeps you passionate about it?
I started at MJI Building Services as a way to survive and earn a living until I figured out what I wanted to be when I grew up. I stay passionate about it because I love seeing the people around me grow and fulfill their goals, which, in turn, helps the company grow and creates a legacy for everyone involved.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
If sleeping were a superpower, I would want to sleep all night. If sleeping isn’t an option, I would like to be able to fly. Who wouldn’t want to avoid all the traffic?

What do you want to be when you grow up?
When I grow up, I want to be humbled by the success of those around me, especially my boys, my employees and anyone else I’ve had the privilege of impacting in their life. To me, “growing up” means the end and realizing my purpose was fulfilled.

With over 33 years of experience in the construction industry, Brian is a wealth of knowledge and a true leader on every job site. Known for his infectious sense of humor, he brings a positive energy that keeps the crew motivated and laughing. Working from sunup to sundown, Brian ensures everything runs smoothly while offering his expertise and guidance to anyone in need. His hands-on approach, deep industry know-how, and willingness to help others make him an invaluable asset to both the company and team.

What inspired you to come work at MJI Building Services?
My decision to come to MJI was largely inspired by my relationship with Mark from a previous employer. His clear vision, passion for doing the right thing, and hands-on construction experience showed up in everything he did, and that really resonated with me. Joining the team felt like a natural next step, and I was incredibly honored to be given the opportunity to become a business partner in 2017.

As a Project Manager at MJI Building Services, John is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering projects on time and on budget. He works closely with clients, subcontractors, and the MJI team throughout construction to keep projects moving forward, solve challenges as they arise, and ensure everyone is working toward the same goal. 

What is your favorite way to spend a lazy weekend?
Spending time in the backyard with my family. 

What inspired you to pursue a career at MJI Building Services?
I saw an opportunity to help grow the business alongside a team of like-minded people. 

What is the best career advice you have received?
You don’t learn anything on the easy days.

Taylor Hart is the Communications Coordinator at MJI Building Services, managing daily operations and overseeing internal and external communications. She plays a key role in promoting MJI’s public image, fostering a positive office culture, and supporting the company’s growth.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
Time Travel. I’d love to explore the past to see how my family history shaped who we are firsthand or catch a glimpse of what the future holds!

What is your favorite thing about working at MJI Building Services?
The strong sense of family that exists within the team. It’s refreshing to be part of a team where every individual is motivated and takes pride in contributing to MJI’s growth and success.

A true jack of all trades, he’s always willing to lend a hand, speak up when it counts and stand up for his team. His dedication to quality and safety makes him a key player in keeping projects running smoothly. From pouring and finishing concrete to managing materials, delegating crews, Codey handles it all with precision and pride. 

What did you want to be when you grew up?
A professional BMX rider

The ability to fly – to get places faster

Laura Matuszak is the VP of Operations at MJI Building Services, overseeing day-to-day operations and ensuring smooth project execution. She works closely with the team to maintain high standards, meet client expectations, and contribute to the company’s growth. Grateful for the opportunity to take on the role of VP, Laura is passionate about helping MJI continue its success and achieve new milestones.

Would you rather be the funniest or smartest person in the room?
I am usually both…just kidding! I have no desire to be the smartest nor the funniest person in the room. I just enjoy hearing about others’ experiences, failures, successes, sense of humor and their opinions.

What is the best career advice you have received?
Let your actions speak louder than your words.

Business Development & Sales

As part of Business Development & Sales at MJI Building Services, Joel focuses on developing new business and building lasting relationships with clients. He helps identify construction opportunities, develop estimates and proposals, coordinate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers, negotiate contracts, and transition awarded projects to the project management team. With nearly three years at MJI, Joel enjoys being involved in the early stages of a project and helping turn an initial idea into something that can be built.  

What inspired you to pursue a career at MJI Building Services?
I was drawn to MJI because of its people, its customers, and the quality of work the team delivers. I enjoy building relationships, finding solutions, and seeing a project go from an idea to something that’s actually built. 

What is something interesting about you that most people do not know?
I really enjoy learning about history and ancient civilizations. Once something catches my interest, I can go pretty far down the rabbit hole learning everything I can about it. 

What did you want to be when you grew up?
A builder, engineer, or teacher. I’ve always enjoyed building things, figuring out how they work, solving problems, and helping others understand how to do something. 

Mike Perock

Financial Controller

As Financial Controller at MJI Building Services, Mike oversees the financial side of the company, including payroll, financial reporting, and cash flow management. With approximately 18 years of experience in the construction industry, Mike brings valuable industry knowledge to his role and helps ensure MJI remains financially strong as the company continues to grow.  

What is your favorite way to spend a lazy weekend? 
On the lake trolling for fish with great company and a few cold beverages! 

What inspired you to pursue a career at MJI Building Services? 
The timing was right, and I was already familiar with one of the owners. MJI is a close-knit company with a great team, and I’m excited to be part of its continued growth. 

What is something interesting about you that most people do not know? 
Life at home stays pretty busy! Along with three teenagers and a toddler, we have three dogs, two barn cats, fish tanks and about a dozen chickens. For a short time, we even had two pet turkeys!

Dustin Reilly is the Senior Estimator and Sales Team Manager at MJI Building Services. With extensive experience in estimating and sales, Dustin plays a key role in accurately forecasting project costs and managing client relationships. Dustin is committed to ensuring each project’s success from start to finish!

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Teleportation, so I would be able to give the most to everyone and never miss special moments in life.

What is your favorite thing about working at MJI Building Services?
The people and the culture. It’s an ego-free workplace.

What is the best career advice you have received?
Success is not being the best, making the most money or winning awards. Success is about loving what you do and giving 100% effort to it.

Brandon Selissen

Site Superintendent

As a Site Superintendent at MJI Building Services, Brandon plays an important role in keeping projects organized and moving forward in the field. He works closely with crews, subcontractors, and clients to coordinate day-to-day activity on the jobsite, maintain quality, and help ensure each project stays on track. Building strong relationships and maintaining open communication are an important part of Brandon’s approach to every project. 

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?
I’d like to visit all the national parks, so far, we are at 16 out of 64. 

What is something interesting about you that most people do not know?
I enjoy woodworking and collecting antique hand tools. 

What is the best career advice you have received?
Life is all about relationships and connections.

As Project Development Manager at MJI Building Services, Phil helps turn a client’s vision into a clear path forward. He works with clients during the early stages of a project to understand their goals, identify needs, explore options, and help establish the direction of the project before construction begins. A key part of Phils role is building strong relationships with clients from the very first conversations, creating trust and open communication that carries throughout the entire project.  

What inspired you to pursue a career at MJI Building Services?
I had the opportunity to talk with former clients about their experiences with MJI. After hearing what they had to say, I knew this was a team I wanted to be part of.  

What is your favorite thing about working at MJI Building Services?
The integrity our team brings to every project. Everyone is committed to doing things the right way.

As a Designer/Estimator at MJI Building Services, Coua helps transform clients’ ideas into functional, thoughtfully designed spaces. She works closely with clients to understand their vision, guide design decisions, and ensure each project aligns with their style, needs, and budget. On the estimating side, Coua works with subcontractors and vendors to understand project scope and develop accurate pricing. Collaboration is at the heart of her role, helping create a smooth experience for clients from the earliest ideas through project planning. Today, she continues to be inspired by the talented people around her, who motivate her to keep learning, growing, and bringing her best to every project. 

What inspired you to pursue a career at MJI Building Services?
The people and the values. I was drawn to the integrity, collaboration, and genuine passion everyone brings to their work.

What is something interesting about you that most people do not know?
My greatest achievement is the family and marriage I’ve built. Having a strong foundation at home keeps me grounded and brings positive energy into everything I do.

What is the best career advice you have received?
It’s never too late to start something new. Keep showing up, work hard, trust the process, and trust God to lead you where you’re meant to be.
